Common side effects of Reglan (Metoclopramide)

  • Category: R

Reglan is a drug used to treat particular conditions of intestines and stomach. It is given to patients who have persistent heartburn when all other medicines fail to work. It is prescribed as a short-term treatment for heartburn that usually occurs after meals or during the daytime. Treating persistent heartburn in time can reduce the damage caused by stomach acids to the esophagus or the swallowing tube and boost healing.
Reglan is also given to diabetic patients who have gastroparesis or poor emptying of the stomach. By treating gastroparesis, doctors help to reduce symptoms of vomiting, abdominal fullness, and nausea. This medication works by blocking dopamine, a natural substance which increases the movement of the upper intestines and stomach emptying.

If you have any specific queries about Infliximab, ask your physician or the pharmacist when you go to buy the medication.

Infliximab is given intravenously over a period of two hours as directed by your healthcare provider. The medication is given after 2 weeks, then 6 weeks, and then every 8 weeks or as prescribed by your doctor. The amount and duration of the treatment are determined according to your medical condition by your doctor.

If you are self-administrating this medication, make sure to follow all the directions and instructions carefully.

Other medications may be used alongside Infliximab in order to reduce its side effects. These are to be prescribed by your physician and are to be used as directed. This medication needs to be regularly used and at the proper time.

Common Side Effects Of Restasis

  • Category: R

Restasis ophthalmic emulsion (also known as cyclosporine eye drops) is a special formulation containing an immunosuppressant medication called cyclosporine. Restasis is administered externally as eye drops and belongs to the group of anti-inflammatories (or immunomodulators) - a class of medications.

The Restasis formulation is used as a medication to treat keratoconjunctivitis sicca or chronic dry eyes disease which is usually a result of inflammation. In such a condition, the lachrymal glands do not produce tears at a normal rate to hydrate the eye and keep the conjunctiva moist.

Using Restasis, the active ingredient cyclosporine reduces inflammation, and by controlling and preventing further damage, it indirectly increases the natural ability of one’s lachrymal glands to produce tears, hence, curing dry eyes.

It may also be used for other eye diseases not mentioned in this guide. Furthermore, it usually takes a long span of time to observe noticeable changes in the condition of the eye.
