Common Side Effects Of Tamoxifen

Tamoxifen belongs to the class of medications known as anti-estrogens. It is a medication that is used to treat breast cancer, in both men and women. This medication treats breast cancer that has already spread to other parts of the body.
This drug is also used for treating breast cancer in women who have already undergone other treatment procedures such as surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy. This drug helps in reducing the risk of developing a more serious kind of breast cancer in women who have already suffered from some other type of breast cancer, mainly from ductal carcinoma in situ, DCIS.
Tamoxifen also helps in reducing the risk of breast cancer in women who are at a higher risk of developing the disease due to their family history, personal medical history, or because of their age. Tamoxifen is also used for inducing ovulation in women who cannot produce eggs but want to become pregnant.
This drug is also used to treat McCune-Albright syndrome, a health condition that causes bone diseases, leads to early sexual development, and causes dark colored patches and spots to appear on a kid’s skin.
